MCTU Fish Camp Coffee Story
Fish Camp Coffee is a collaboration between MCTU and a local Music City coffee roaster. The roaster custom blends our coffee and it is available nowhere else.
Fish Camp Coffee is available in 3 unique roasts and all roasts are available in whole bean or ground options all in 12 oz packages at $18 each. Here are the available roasts:
Wooly Bugger Black: Unique blend of matched coffees (density or hardness) from America, Africa, and Asia. They are blended green and roasted dark. It's a sweet smooth blend with notes of dark chocolate and tart cherry. Some may taste berry instead of cherry. Ingredients: 100% Arabica Coffee Beans.
Wooly Bugger Brown: Indian Roast Blend, Monsoon Malabar, Unique tangy, with toffee notes. a Medium dark roast Ingredients: 100% Arabica Coffee Beans
Morning Mist Blend: Blend of Columbian Santa Maria, and Guatemala Santo Tomas. Low citrus acidity with notes of chocolate, and nutty spicy tones. Medium Roast Ingredients: 100% Arabica Coffee Beans
Your Music City Trout Unlimited Chapter receives very little funding from TU National (less than $50 to date in 2025) and no funding from the State of Tennessee.
Some longtime members might remember when MCTU (then known as Cumberland) got a significant amount of funding from the sale of the Conservation (TU plate with a Brook Trout) TN plate. That funding was cut off and is sent to the Tennessee State TU entity. MCTU can get grants from that fund, like we did for the Caney Fork monitoring (there is a link at the end of this eMail if you haven't seen the data). As a result , MCTU needs to raise funds to operate and cannot charge dues as dues go to TU National. Your MCTU leadership decided of deliver value to our membership rather than continuously asking for donations. MCTU Fish Camp Coffee is an example this effort.
Your Music City Trout Unlimited Fish Camp Coffee is available online. During the checkout process, you will be provided with two options to get your coffee. You can either pick it up at Fly South or at the next MCTU meeting.
All proceeds from MCTU Fish Camp Coffee sales stay in Middle Tennessee and go to support MCTU activities like river cleanups, fly fishing clinics, Trout in the Classroom, Youth Trout Camp and local conservation efforts.
